This Song Has a Story

Years ago, my girlfriend left to study in Venice, and I wrote a song called When Will You Be Back — I missed her dearly. But when she finally returned, I found out she had been seeing someone else. Heartbroken, I abandoned the song.

Years later, I tried rewriting it and came up with an organ and church choir intro. The song still didn’t feel quite right — but the intro stuck with me.

And that’s how Prelude in E Minor was born.
